Join KAF for an informational and fun 5-hour introduction into the wonderful world of snow camping!

KAF Intro to Snow Camping

Have you heard how much fun snow camping is but aren’t sure you’re ready to just head out into the snowy wilderness and spend the night? Understandable! Get professional and join this course.

Intro to snow camping will prepare you for a safe, well-planned for, and exciting snow camping trip in winter environments. Topics include: land use permits, Leave No Trace principles, fitness and conditioning requirements, basic avalanche safety, cold related injuries, and snow shelter construction. All very important stuff!

What else will I learn?

You will learn in detail about equipment and clothing, how to plan and prepare for an outing, what routes to choose, winter navigation, meal preparation, and mountain hazards. Again, all very important stuff!
