Spend a week climbing at Smith Rock State Park, America’s first sport climbing area! Smith Rock has a plethora of climbing styles to experience: sport climbing, traditional climbing, bouldering, all on Columnar Basalt and Welded Tuff. We will camp together, climb together, learn together, and grow together. Join us to push your climbing to the next level or to experience outdoor climbing for the first time.

This experience is designed specifically for climbers who want to push their climbing ability.

AGES Middle school to high school aged participants.
This is a parent free experience, with the exception of transportation to the climbing area.
PREREQUISITES Prior indoor rock climbing experience is necessary.
No outdoor rock climbing experience needed.
Trip must have a minimum of 4 registered participants to run.
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN Belay technique
Climbing movement
Rappelling
Cleaning anchors
Mock-leading
INCLUDED 5 days of climbing instruction and learning
Snacks for the drive down and back. Please bring some extra money for the travel days (Day 1 and 5) as food will be hard to provide on these days
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner (excluding lunch on day 1 and Dinner on day 5)
All group cooking gear: Stove, pots, dishes, sliver ware, cups
NOT INCLUDED Sleeping equipment: Sleeping bags and pads

TRANSPORTATION & TIMES Transportation and times will be coordinated by email when the pre-trip announcement is sent to all registrants.
WHAT’S NEXT? Spend the summer climbing with us during our Youth Camp: Squamish outing in Canada or our single day Youth Camp: Beginner. If you are interested in building technical skills consider Rock Climbing: Beginner.

We will leave Seattle early on Day 1 and when we arrive, we will setup camp and explore the park. Day 2 is a climbing day which will begin after breakfast and end before dinner. Day 3 will incorporate skills learned previously and add the opportunity for mock lead climbing. Day 4 will provide the opportunity for multi-pitch climbing. Day 5, the final day, is a logistics day where we will do extensive gear checks and travel back to our homes.
