This course will be held at either Mount Erie, The Exits, or Frenchmans Coulee in Washington, or Broughton Bluff and Smith Rock State Park in Oregon.

This single day, 8 hour course, will begin in the morning at a pre-determined location, coordinated through email.

After an initial introduction and tone-set, your instructor will facilitate understanding of individual goals, as well as group goals. Then they will fit you for a harness, climbing shoes, and helmet. After that they will give a lesson on necessary knots and proper belay techniques. Finally, you will begin climbing.

After you have climbed, your instructor will give instruction on movement and technique while climbing, hoping to acquaint you with the vertical environment.

Throughout the day, they will pepper in lessons about different parts of the shoe and how to use it effectively, more necessary knots, safe and clear communication, and considerations of the strength of climbing equipment.

At roughly 5:00pm, the course will conclude with a closing. You can plan on being home for dinner that night.
